And yes, if you want to, you can reflare the tube down by the frame rail, but that's going to be a bit of a bitch, and a 37° flare tool, which isn't exactly cheap (compared to the fitting that crushes the brass bushing, which is $10). I can get to the heat shield for the rubber hoses down on the DS fairly easily. Then again, I can also change the wiring harness without pulling the motor, so maybe I've got some tiny voodoo engine that's magically delicious. I have to admit that I never tried to mess with that shield before I put the GT600Rs in with their attendant split downpipes. Maybe I've got more room than you poor suckers with your precats still intact ;)
